so the first time i looked up le tigre on the internet, this song came up and i listened to it and INSTANTLY loved it. the problem is, i’ve never been able to find who the song is actually by. it totally sounds like johanna fateman singing, and when one googles it, all you get is that it’s by le tigre. but i’m pretty sure it isn’t because it has never been listed as a b-side or anything! i’ve tried reaching kathleen, sadie benning, jd, johanna, et al, but no luck with any of them (or even really finding individual emails . . ) does anyone have any damn info on this fucking song? help a grrrl out. i’ve been trying to get to the bottom of this for literally 7 or 8 years. spread the word!

That’s Brasilia, an NYC shoegaze band. There’s a non-demo version of that song on their myspace, and I totally will prop their “A Life Desired” LP hard. I’m not sure if they’re still active, though!

a friend forwarded this to me… i used to be in brasilia. our first name was le tigre, but k.hanna’s band came out with the same name so we changed it. let me know if you’d want a LP- i have about 20 of them left. we were really proud of the album and it’d be much better to put one in your hands rather than letting it collect dust on the shelf! thanks!- r.
